With Harvesting all over the Napa Valley I was inspired to make
Wine Jelly!
Does Wine Jelly taste like wine? Yes! The flavor is all there. It's
mellow and absolutely delicious.
Be sure to pick a wine you like drinking. I went with
Whitehall Lane Pinot Noir because we love it.
This easy recipe takes just minutes to make and enhances everything
from cheese and crackers to sandwiches.
Make some for yourself,
then post the recipe on the fridge, you're going to
want to make it for every party you throw
and for every party you're invited to
from here on out.
Grab a great bottle of wine like this from your wine cellar.
Only three ingredients for this delicious Wine Jelly....
Wine
Sugar
Pectin
Measure out 2 cups of red wine.
Pour the wine into a large pot with 3 1/4 cups of sugar.
Bring the pot to a full rolling boil over high heat, stirring constantly.
My Rooster Sous-chef is keeping a close eye on the pot :)
Grab your liquid (3oz) Pectin because it goes in when the wine boils.
Wine is boiling!
Stir in Pectin. Return to a boil and cook for exactly 1 minute
stirring constantly!
Remove from the heat.
With a paper towel skim off any foam.
Grab your cute Mason Jars.
Ladle the mixture into jars, leaving 1/4 inch headspace.
Jars are filled, my hands are sticky and the counter is a mess :)
Yes, I am doing this.
YUMMY
Cleaned the jars, counter and my hands.
Put the lids on tight and into the fridge for about 6-8 hours to firm up.
Wine Jelly!
A few of these Wine Jellies I am keeping and a few to share :)
Wine Jelly makes for a GREAT appetizer with cheese and crackers.
Would you like one?
Wine Jelly is GREAT on a bagel with a little butter
and my morning coffee!
Wine Jelly makes for a GREAT hostess gift too.
I always say homemade gifts are the BEST gifts.
Enjoy!
P.S.
Wine Jelly is so fun to make, you can virtually use any bottle of wine
you like. I think reds make the best jelly but if you're
a white lover, go for it!
I may try a Pretty Pink Rose' next :)
