FROSE ....FROSEN ROSE

Frozen Rose is making the rounds this summer and there is no slowing it down.
And why would you want to? It's the most refreshing
cocktail of the season.

Frose is so easy to make. It's basically putting all the ingredients into a blender. The most difficult part is remembering to prep the rose by freezing a bottle of your favorites Rose
in two ice cube trays for at least for 3 hours. The wine won't freeze all
the way because of the alcohol content, but it will
firm up- perfect consistency
for a slush.

I wanted extra flavor in my Frose so I made a simple syrup with strawberries.
You for sure could use peaches, raspberries or blueberries too.

Chop up about 2 cups of strawberries.

Stir together 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of sugar in a medium saucepan.
Bring it to a boil....Look you just made a
Simple Syrup :)

Remove the saucepan from the heat and immediately add the strawberries.
let the mixture sit at room temp for 30 minutes.

Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a small bowl. Discard strawberries.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutres
or until you ready to make your
FROSE :)

Lets get our Cocktail on.

Break out your frozen rose from the ice cube trays.

Toss into the blender 1/4 teaspoon of lemon juice, 1 cup of crushed ice
1/2 cup of strawberry syrup and the frozen rose.

Turn on that baby and let it do the hard work.

Stop blender after a few seconds and do a quick mix with a colorful
spatula and puree until smooth.

Pour Froze into a serving pitcher.

Few strawberries into the glasses and serve.

Perfect, but lets head outside for this Gorgeous Sunny Hot Day :)

It's going to be in the 100's in Marin this weekend, so get your Frose blended.

The strawberries add such a beautiful hue to the Froze.

This Frose is for you. The Ultimate Cool-Down Cocktail.

Enjoy!
