EPIC CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

I have been making these Chocolate Chip Cookies for years
for my family and friends. The most important
reason I make them is because
they are REALLY REALLY GOOD!

This recipe is inspired by the famous Neiman Marcus cookie recipe
that has been delighting families for generations.

I added a few of my own twists to the original Neiman recipe like adding a pop of M & M
candy to fit any special occasion. These cookies are RED and ready for
The Super Bowl (49ers) and Valentines Day.

This recipe makes a huge batch of epic cookies so you can
bake now and freeze some dough balls for later
to share with friends.

In an extra large bowl add 4 sticks of softened unsalted butter.

Crack in 4 large eggs.

Add in...

2 cups of granulated sugar
2 cups of brown sugar
2 teaspoons of vanilla

With an electric mixer beat all the ingredients until a
lightened color and texture, about 3 minutes.

Be sure to scrape the bowl with a Leopard Spatula and set it aside.

Look who showed up to the party, Mr. Quaker Oats himself.

Toss into another large bowl 5 Cups of oats.

To the oats add in 4 cups of all-purpose flour.

These three characters always show up to a cookie party, right?

To the dry ingredients add in..

2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon of fine sea salt

With a Green Fork mix all the dry ingredients well.

Now to bring the wet and dry together.

Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients with a wooden
spoon and then start incorporating it all together.

Perfect.

Add some sweetness with 24 ounces of your favorite chocolate chips.

Tumble in all the chocolate chips to the bowl.

Give this bowl a mix.
You may even want to use your hands :)

Toss in 3 cups of very roughly chopped walnuts, pecans, or a combination.

If you don't like NUTS then leave them out, it's your cookie party!

Yes, we are adding more CHOCOLATE to the cookie party.

Chop up 8 ounces of Hershey chocolate bars into chunks, no stealing :)

Toss in the chocolate chunks and give this big bowl a mix.
You may want to use your hands here :)

This bowl is flipping HEAVY!

You can pop this bowl in the fridge or start rolling out some cookies.

Using your hands or a couple of spoons, form the batter into loose,
golf-ball-sized mounds and place them two inches apart on
non-greased cookie sheets.

Now to personalize these Epic Chocolate Chip Cookies!

My RED M&M candies for the...
