Pecan Pie Bars

Well the holidays are here and it's baking time for sure!!!
These bars cookies are so yummy. Brown sugar carmel and pecans
on top of a buttery short bread cookie just melts in your mouth.
Trust Me On This!
You can thank me now, because I am sparing you the physical pain of dealing
with pasty dough. These bars are packed with the classic Pecan Pie flavor
with out all the rolling-baking that accompanies a golden brown crust.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a 9x13 pan with foil.

First make the crust by creaming together the butter and brown sugar until fluffy in a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Add in the flour and salt and mix until crumbly.

Press the crust into the foil-lined pan and bake for 15 minutes until golden brown.

While the crust bakes, prepare the filling by combine the butter,
brown sugar and honey in a saucepan. Stir over medium heat.

Pour in the heavy cream and simmer the mixture for about 1 minute.

Stir in your chopped pecans.

Ok, I am not going to stop you and your not going to stop me
Lets taste! YUM.

Remove the crust from the oven after 15 minutes and immediately pour
filling over the hot crust and spread it to cover the entire surface.
return the pan to the oven and bake an additional 20 minutes.

Remove pan from the oven and allow the bars to fully cool in the pan.
Using the foil lift out the bars and transfer them to a cutting board.
Peel the foil and slice bars and serve.

Have one! Sorry I split your milk. Let me get you a Brandy instead!

These Pecan Pie Bars are so great to have around the house
during the holiday season, but...why not make several batches, wrap
them up cute and share some your with friends?
