Barbecue Pulled Pork is a perfect balance of tangy sweetness
and it is great to make for a large crowd.
Using your slow cooker combines the best of both worlds: its takes a
few easy ingredients thrown into the slow cooker in the morning, and by
dinner you have the most amazing barbecue ready to eat :)
Start with boneless pork shoulder, trimmed.
Mixed up my spices.
Got my pork all rubbed with the spices and transferred it to a large
resealable plastic bag. Off to the refrigerator for 1 to 4 hours.
1 onion chopped
My slow cooker is ready to make some magic.
Added my pork shoulder to the slow cooker and browned it on all sides on my stove top.
Pulled the pork shoulder out and tossed in my onions & garlic, stirring
until the onion softened.
Added tomato paste, ketchup and cooked 2 more minutes.
Stir in the chicken broth, vinegar and 2 cups of water and
return the pork shoulder back into the pot. Cook on low for 7 hours.
Lets go play!
The house smells amazing! OMG… The Pork Just Falls Off The Bone!
Shred the pork with 2 forks.
I took the sauce from the slow cooker and continued cooking it
on my stove top for about 20 minutes, till it thickens. Pour that
wonderful BBQ sauce all over the pork shoulder.
I served the Barbecue Pulled Pork on buns with coleslaw.
So if you have been either playing golf, tennis, or just boating all day
you have no reason not to entertain. While you were playing
the Pulled Pork was cooking.
