Toad In The Hole

With the news of Queen Elizabeth's passing I was inspired to make a
classic British dish in her honor while watching all the
news coverage of Her Majesty's amazing life on TV.

Toad In The Hole!

For anyone who has never heard of this dish, it's sausage cooked in a
Yorkshire pudding batter. It's a classic British dish that is incredibly
popular throughout the world and is usually served hot
for breakfast or dinner.

Let's get our British on in the kitchen now!

Pour 2 Tbsp of oil into a casserole dish and add in thick beef sausage.

Bake the sausage for roughly 10 minutes in a 400 degree oven.
Turn after 5 minutes.

While the sausage is cooking add 3/4 cups of flour and 1/4 tsp of salt together.

Sift the dry ingredients into a bowl.

The world is honoring Queen Elizabeth now...Live

Back to cooking!

Crack two eggs into the flour.

Pour in 1 and 1/4 cups of whole milk to the bowl.

Whisk until the batter is smooth.

Love watching the coverage of Queen Elizabeth's life and
whipping up a British dish at the same time!

Grab the semi cooked sausage from the oven.

Pour the Yorkshire batter all over the dish.

Bake The Toad In A Hole for about 30-45 minutes or until batter is
puffed up and golden brown.
