SCALLOPED POTATOES

Scalloped Potatoes are one of those side dishes that's just so satisfying it'll leave you
smacking your lips and digging in for more. Some people call it Potatoes Gratin,
and some call it Scalloped Potatoes- whatever you call it, this is
one spectacular side dish!

Those deliciously creamy potatoe slices stacked together and that baked golden top
are irresistible- and to me- is the definition of a comfort food classic.

This recipe is made using simple and delicious ingredients that
you'll probably already have on hand.

Ingredients...

3 medium russet potatoes
1 tablespoon of flour
1/2 cup of soft butter
1/2 cup of whole milk
2 cups of cheddar cheese
salt & pepper

Peel and thinly slice the potatoes.

Slices will be in all shapes and sizes and thats just fine :)

Grease an 8x8 inch dish with lots of butter.

Arrange a single layer of the potatoes down and a bit overlapping.

Sprinkle a dash of flour and small cubes of butter over the potatoes.

A bit of salt & paper next.

Repeat to make a second and third layer.

Sprinkle about 1 1/2  cups of the cheese over the top.

Pour all the milk evenly over the top of the potatoes.

Cover tightly with foil. Bake for 3 hours or until browned and potatoes are tender.

During the last 45 minutes remove the foil and add the rest of the cheese over the top.

Time to remove the foil.

Add the rest of the cheese and back into the oven to bake the last 45 minutes.

Can I just get an "OMG" ! This just looks so yummy!

Sprinkle with some chives over the top for a bit of garnish.

I served my Scalloped Potatoes with my Honey Baked Ham for Easter.

This side dish is also incredible with just about anything like,......
pork chops, roast chicken and more.

No One Will Know, No One Will Know that I snuck a taste before dinner!

Delicious!

Enjoy!

P.S.

Do you think it was hard to clean this baking dish?

YES! It was well worth the trouble :)

Yes it was and well worth the trouble....YUM
