FRESH SQUEEZED LEMONADE

It's going to be a hot one this week and into the weekend.

Whip up some homemade Lemonade because it just tastes better from scratch.

Stay Refreshed!

I hollowed out several lemons & limes to make a little floral
arrangement for a lunch I was throwing and
saved the juices for my
Lemonade :)

Strain all the juices into a colander.

Measure out one cup of lemon juice and set it aside.

The proportions of lemon juice may vary depending on how sweet and
strong you like your lemonade, and how sour your lemons are to begin with.

Late season lemons are less sour than early season lemons. Meyer lemons
are sweeter than standard lemons.

In a sauce pan measure out one cup of sugar.

I have a secrete to share, I used "Monk Fruit" because it has
zero calories and just tastes fabulous too.

Pour into the sugar one cup of water.

Lemonade: sugar, water, lemon juice. Easy, right?

Well, problem is that if you just stir it all together the sugar will sink to the bottom.

So the best way to make lemonade is to make a simple syrup first by heating the
water and sugar together until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Ta-Da

Simple Syrup!

Pour the lemon juice into a large pitcher.

Add in the simple syrup to the pitcher.

Pour in 2 to 3 cups of cold water depending on your taste and give the pitcher a stir.

Grab the cutest Lemonade Cups you can find.

Tumble lots of ice into your Lemonade Cups.

Fill the cups up with the Lemonade and stay

REFRESHED!

Pour the rest of the Lemonade into a cute container and refrigerate till
you add it to your cocktails :)

Tell me where you will sip your Lemonade on a super gorgeous hot day.

I went for the porch overlooking the vineyard.

Enjoy!

P.S.

What is Monk Fruit?

Monk Fruit is a small round fruit native to southern China. It has been used for centuries
in Eastern medicine as a cold and digestive aid, and now it is also being
used to sweeten foods and beverages.

Monk fruit sweeteners are created by removing the seeds and skin of the fruit,
crushing the fruit, and collecting the juice.

The fruit extract or juice, contains zero calories per serving :)
