Eggnog Bread is a delicious seasonal treat that when topped with
a flavorful glaze and sprinkled with nutmeg you just know
Fa La La the Holidays are ringing!
Break out your mixer and lets bake!
In a large bowl whisk together...
2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder 2 1/2 ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon salt
Melt 1/2 cup of unsalted butter.
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
Pour into the bowl 1 cup of Eggnog and crack in 2 eggs.
Give the bowl a mix till all combined.
Pour in the dry ingredients into the wet and give a mix with a spatula.
Pout batter into a 9 x 5 greased loaf pan.
Bake the Eggnog Bread for 35-45 in a 350 degree oven
or until a toothpick inserted in center
comes out clean :)
For the ICING....
1 cup of powdered sugar. sifted.
To the sugar add in a dash of Nutmeg.
2 tablespoons of Eggnog.
Give the icing a mix. If you need to add a bit more Eggnog go for it.
The kitchen smells like "Winter Wonderful" right now!
When I am in the mood to bake I often fine myself looking for a quick
sweet bread and this one is just perfect for the Holidays!
Once the bread has completely cooled....
Glaze away :)
Sprinkle Eggnog bread with a good bit of nutmeg.
Grab a glass of Eggnog and pour in some Brandy.
Santa already knows you are Naughty!!!
