SHRIMP CREOLE

Sharing The Best Shrimp Creole Ever!

Friends, this is it!  No need to head to New Orleans.

This New Orleans-inspired dish is one I have been making over 30 years and
everyone loves it. My family is always asking for this one

It's always a little scary when you proclaim something to be..."The Best & The Greatest "
Okay, I take it back. It's my favorite and my family's  favorite :)

I always make a big batch to make sure I have plenty to freeze for a last minute craving :)

Slice up about 2 red and 2 green peppers into all different shapes.

Slice up about 8-10 celery stalks.

Chop up one large onion.

4 cloves of garlic, minced....More if you like.

Tumble all the vegetables into a large pot.

The most important ingredient you will need!

Tony Chachere's Original Creole Seasoning :)

Spinkle in...

3 tablespoons Creole seasoning
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
salt & pepper

Pour in some olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter
and saute' on medium heat till just tender.
Don't over cook here.

Yes, grab your Cajun Andouille.

Slice up the sausage into chunks.

Toss the sausage into the pot and give it a good stir.

Open up

2 cans of Fire Roasted diced tomatoes.. 14.5 oz
2 cans of crushed tomatoes... 28 oz

Pour all the tomatoes into the pot and stir.

Pour in two cups of chicken broth to the pot.

8 good shakes of Worcestershire Sauce or more.

Few dots of hot sauce. My husband likes it hot so did a few more.

Few dashes of red pepper flakes.

Throw in 3 bay leaves.

Bring the pot to a boil then turn down to a zimmer. Have a taste. Does it need more spice for you?

Cover on low to a simmer about 25 minutes then turn off the heat. Let set till you are ready to serve.

This is the kind of frozen shrimp I use... Jumbo!

Thaw your shrimp and remove the tails.

.

Set your shrimp aside until your ready to eat.
The shrimp only takes about 10 minutes to cook in the Creole.
No one likes over cooked shrimp ;)

Getting close to dinner time so turn up the heat on
the Creole and throw the shrimp in.
Cook about 10 minutes till
shrimp is pink.

Stir this pot around and go set your table. :)

This smells so good. Time to eat.

I serve my Shrimp Creole over a bed of rice.

Serve it up.

Top your Creole with green onions, Parmesan and a
dash more hot sauce if you like.

A simple salad and crusty bread pairs fabulous with Shrimp Creole!

Dinner is ready so pour the wine (I like white, he likes red)

A bowl for you XO

Enjoy!

P.S.

We are all cooking from home right now and need to cook our fresh
vegetables before they go bad. This is the perfect dish
to make it happen in a yummy way!

Shrimp Creole is great with Eggs .
Shrimp Creole is great on Grits.
Shrimp Creole is great on Polenta.
Shrimp Creole is great on Pasts.
Shrimp Creole is great alone as Soup.

This Shrimp Creole recipe makes a big pot so you can drop
some off to a neighbor or freeze it for later when
you don't want to cook.
