John and I just love the restaurant Don Giovanni in Napa. We always
stop for lunch there on our way to St. Helena because the food
is fabulous and also maybe because they let our
dog Bella join us for lunch :)
We order the Fried Olives as an appetizer at Don Giovanni's
because they are just plain yummy!
Well guess what....I gave it a go myself in our kitchen.
Fabulous & Easy
Deep fried olives are the perfect appetizer for casual gatherings-whip up
a batch with just 4 ingredients and in 15 minutes.
Olives
Flour
Egg
Italian Bread Crumbs
Pour enough olive oil into a saucepan to reach a depth of 2 inches. Heat
over medium-high until the oil reaches 350 degrees.
Roll olives into the flour.
Then roll the olives into the beaded egg.
And now rool olives into bread crumbs.
Continue the dip and dredge.
Fry the olives in the pre-heated oil in batches until golden brown.
Drain on a paper towel and serve :)
These are best served warm, so prep them ahead of time and fry them up
as your guest arrive. Make sure you have extra jars of
olives on hand, because these will disappear quick.
The Dip Is...
1/3 cup of mayonnaise
1 tbsp lemon juice and a pinch of garlic powder
A crispy new twist on a favorite cocktail party finger food
paired with a zesty aioli for dipping.
A Party Treat You Will Love.
Enjoy!
