FIG HONEY JAM

I think most people love figs or hate them, and the ones that love them
really love them. I fit into that category. Figs are just
scrumptious and and feel like a complete
luxury :)

So what does a person do when they have a fig tree in the garden?
Make Homemade Fig Jam and share it with friends.

Fig Jam is special, not because it's made with sweet, delicious figs
but because you don't need any pectin or
special canning equipment.

Give the figs a good rinse and drain.

Slice about 2lbs of figs into quarters.

Tumble the figs into a large sauce pan next to your Sunflowers.

Add 3/4 cup of sugar.

Pour in 1/2 cup of honey.

1 teaspoon of pure vanilla to the pot.

Squeeze in the juice of one lemon. Figs are so sweet that they need some
lemon juice to balance things out and tone the sweetness.

Place the sauce pan on a medium heat on the stove top.

Bring the figs to a boil. then reduce heat and cook until thickened,
about 45-50 minutes. Be sure to stir the pot often,
to prevent sticking, especially as it thickens.

Remove from the heat and cool completely.

Yum!

Just start filling up your Fig Jam into cute air tight containers
and it can refrigerate for up to 3 weeks.

This is for me now :)

Few gifts for some friends right here.

I don't knew about you, but I always think of Fig Jam when I'am
putting a cheese plate together.

It's just magical with Goat Cheese, Manchego and Blue Cheese.

Fig Honey Jam taste fantastic with a cold glass of Sauvignon Blanc :)
