WHITE BEAN & HAM SOUP

I had a big Christmas Party last week because I love the Holidays and I love to Entertain.
With so many guest I thought why not serve a big Honey Baked Ham!

With my leftover ham I make some Yummy soup and had another Party because
I love the Holidays and I love to Entertain..... So I did.

Hearty White Bean and Ham Soup, perfect for cold winter days. When the weather turns cold, and all you want to do is to stay cozy and warm, the best thing to do is to make a big pot of
heart soup. On days like these nothing is more comforting than this ham
and white bean soup (Well, maybe some fuzzy woolen slippers,
but you can't eat them)

Soak a 1lb of white Cannellini beans in about 2 1/2 cups of hot water for 2 hours. Then drain.

Pour one bottle of your favorite beer into the pot:)

Two quarts of chicken stock next. Bring to a boil and then simmer.

Saute in olive oil...

1 cup of diced onion
1 cup chopped celery
2/3 cup of chopped carrots
2-3 cloves of garlic
2 teaspoon Herbs de Provence

Place your Ham Hock into the pot along with your saluted vegetables.

Chop up some of your left over ham and into the pot.

Few dashes of hot sauce. Bring to a boil and turn down to a
simmer for about two hours or till the beans
are tender. Your kitchen will smell
AMAZING!

Look how the ham just falls right off the bone.

Pull the ham hock out of the pot and make sure you get all the meat
off the bone and back into the soup.

Well the soups done so lets Party!

Grab your Christmas Trivet and serve up some soup.

Help yourselves to a bowl of
White Bean & Ham Soup.

Nice cold beer is perfect with this soup :)

I actually made two big pots of this soup because we love it so much and....

Add it freezes so well..

Why is it that some stews and soups improve the next day? I think it's because the flavors from the beans, ham, and vegetables have time to blend. The starch from the bean settle
more into the broth making the soup thicker and more stew-like too.

Would you like a bite because
Baby It's Cold Outside!

Enjoy!

P.S.

Have A Wonderful Holiday.
