Fresh Fruit & Brie, always fabulous together. I thought this was a perfect snack to make for
two super fun guest in from NYC and on their way of to my house with my
daughter Claire. It was a "Sunny Sipping Sunday" in Marin for sure.
These cherries I got at the Farmers Market are huge and so juicy!!!
With your cherry pitter, pit away about a cup 1/2 of your cherries.
No I did not cut myself, cherry juice….Haaaaa
Put your cherries in a sauce pan and add about a 1/3 cup of Port Wine.
Sprinkle cherries with salt & pepper and a teaspoon of sugar. Add a sprig of thyme.
Cook cherries on medium heat for about 10 minutes.
Grab for French Baguette and slices on both sides but not all
the way through the bread, kinda like a V.
Pulls away so easy.
Save the top of the Baguette for something else fun…like croutons.
Take the skin off your favorite Brie and start stuffing your French Baguette.
There you have it…We are stuffed.
Pop this in to a 400 degree oven for about 10 minutes till
the cheese is completely melted.
With a fork top the melted Brie with your Port Wine Cherries and not the liquid.
Sometimes you just have to have your handsome guest do the
garnish with a little fresh thyme :)
So much fun having Sean and Kevin over for a "Sunny Sipping Sunday"
From look in Sean's face he just heard the
Champagne Pop...
You two do the slicing and I will fill your glasses.
Yes, please I would like a bite.
This Stuffed French Baguette is so tasty
and looks so "Fancy".
Lets just finish it all off now!
Enjoy!
P.S.
Thank you Sean :)
