Chocolate Coconut Bars.

These decadent bars are inspired by the Hello Dollies, a popular southern desert. Don’t be tempted to wait for these bars to cool down before devouring one…they are irresistible piping hot or room temp.
Lets get Baking!

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly splash a 15 by 10 inch rimmed baking sheet evenly with water, then line with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, stir together cookie crumbs, sugar.

Pour in your melted butter.

Mix all the ingredients together and have a taste.

Evenly press onto bottom and up sides of a prepared baking sheet. Bake, rotating halfway through, until firm, about 10 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack; cool, about 20 minutes.

Sprinkle cooled crust evenly with pecan and chocolate chips. Pour condensed milk over the top, spreading to cover completely.

Sprinkle with coconut. Now… Sashay over to the oven and pop this dish in. Bake until coconut is toasted, 10 to 15 minutes.

Smells Yummy. Now cut in desired size.

Last weekend and just this pasted weekend we were invited to dinner at some friends house. I just can’t show up empty handed ( yes of course we brought a nice bottle of wine too ). These bar cookies make a terrific  Hostess Gift. Invite me next to your dinner party and I will for sure bring you something from my oven :)
