Please don’t hate me. Because I’am here to tell you one thing…there is nothing -nothing- good about this dessert. It’s loaded with sugar. I don’t know what to say other than… Did it taste good? Oh yeah, Baby. It sure did.
There is lots going on this time of year with Graduations, Memorial Day BBQ, and Summer fun get togethers. This desert is so crazy easy, I can say I am a bit embarrassed to tell you how to whip this up. My husbands says I never get embarrassed :) Here we go.
Haaa. Cherry Pie Filling, Crushed Pineapple,Yellow Cake Mix and Butter
Dump 1 can of cherry pie filling into a baking dish (9x13). What a lovely shade of red.
Next, Dump ( Do we see the word Dump again ?) 1 can of crushed pineapple into the dish with all the liquid. Note: there is always blueberry or peaches if you prefer. Stir the mixture together.
Once it is all combined open a bag of cake mix and sprinkle the dry mix over the top. Smooth out the large clumps with a folk.
This is going to happen next haaaaa. Pour a whole 4oz stick of melted butter all over the top.
Now pop it in the oven and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until top is bubbly.
Mmmmm if I didn’t know any better, I’d think this was some kind of a fruit crisp. Or cobbler. Certainly not a couple of cans of fruit with a mixture of cake mix and butter on top. So cool how the fruit on the bottom combines with the butter to give a dry cake mix all the moisture it needs. And the top is so nice and light and crispy. YUM.
To serve, just stick a spoon right in…
Don’t let me do all the Bragging on Dump Cake. My niece Mary Ann and her girlfriends Caroline, Heidi and Julie Loved it. There are so many different types of Dump Cake Recipes ( Chocolate ). Let me share a little history about the Dump Cake with you. Look at Cathy Mitchell 250 Dump Cakes. Wow.. get Dumping Because They Are Yummy.
