LAZY DAY LASAGNA

I call this the "Lazy Day Lasagna" because you can make it 24 hours ahead and
then the day you have family or friends come over for dinner you
you just pop it in the oven to bake.

You get to binge on Netflix and be lazy because dinner is prepared!

This is a classic Lasagna recipe that is million-dollar good! Layers of
marinara, ricotta cheese, herbs, pasta, mozzarella cheese,
sausage and beef that is delicious!

Marinara Sauce....

In a large pot over medium heat brown 1pound of ground beef and 1/2 pound of sausage.

Add minced garlic and your favorite 48 oz. of spaghetti sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.

Ricotta Sauce...

In a large bowl mix together 15 ounces of ricotta cheese, 2 cups of mozzarella cheese,
2 eggs, 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese, dried oregano , salt and pepper.
Mix the bowl well till all combined.

Pasta...

Boil Lasagna pasta for 8 minutes and drain.

To Assemble...

Spray a 9x13 inch baking pan with cooking spray. Spread about 3/4 cup
of the marinara sauce or more on the bottom of the pan to completely cover.

Top with three pieces of lasagna pasta.

Spread the ricotta mixture over the pasta and sprinkle with
a bit of shredded mozzarella over the top.

Repeat layers  in the same order 2 more times.

Top the remaining noodle layer with meat sauce dropped randomly around
the ricotta cheese. Sprinkle with 1 cup of mozzarella
cheese and a bit more Parmesan cheese.

I covered my prepared Lazy Day Lasagne with plastic wrap on
Saturday and popped it into the fridge over night.

When You are Ready To Bake....

Bake covered in a prepared 350 degree oven for 50 minutes. Uncover
and bake an additional 10 minutes.

We had a fabulous Lazy Day Sunday Family Dinner.

Rummikub & Lazy Day Lasagna!

Enjoy!

Makes for the most perfect leftovers :)

Please do let me know your own family recipe for Lasagna
because I know there are so many great
ones out there.
