RED WINE CRANBERRY BRAISED SHORT RIBS

A quick recipe is like gold during The Holiday Season right?

Shopping, Parties, Shopping Parties

Slow cooked short ribs in red wine with fresh herbs and sweet cranberries.
They're a one pot and done kind of dinner, festive, and totally
Delicious!

Season about 5 pounds bone in, beef short ribs with salt and pepper.

Heat about 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a oven safe slow cooker
and sear the ribs on both sides.

Top the ribs with one medium thinly sliced onion and 4 chopped carrots.

Top the vegetables with 1 tablespoon of brown sugar and
2 tablespoons of tomato paste.

Pour in 2 cups of dry red wine, such as Cabernet Sauvignon.

2 cups of chicken broth.

Toss into the slow cooker some fresh thyme, rosemary and a few bay leaves.

Cover and cook on low for 6 hours. During the last 2 hours
of cooking, add the cranberries and give a stir.

Now go Shopping or head off to a Holiday Party because
dinner is cookin. :)

The party was fabulous and my dinner was ready when we came home.

Smells Amazing!

Christmas Colors In A Slow Cooker!

Serve this over a bed of mashed potatoes or creamy polenta and you'll have the
perfect dinner for a cold night in.

Enjoy!
