Celebrate Apple season with this delicious easy Homemade
Applesauce recipe. It's packed with the warm flavor of
cinnamon and the freshness you can really taste.
It takes just a few minutes to prep and it's ready in about 40 minutes!
My truck just pulled up with a bunch of fresh Apples.
Apple season is usually in early Fall, with most Apples ripening in
mid- September and into November. However, the exact
timing can vary depending on the type of apple,
weather and the orchard.
Peel and core about 8 of your favorite Apples.
Cut the Apples into small chunks.
In a large Green Dutch Oven add...
1/3 cup of water
1/4 cup of granulated sugar
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon of salt
1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice
Tumble the Apples into the pot and give it a good mix.
Now off to the stove to cook down.
Bring to a boil over medium heat and reduce heat slightly.
Be sure to have a Rooster keeping a close eye on the pot :)
Toss in a few Cinnamon sticks for extra flavor.
I got a boil going right here!
You could almost drink the juice these Apples make.
Cover and cook 30 minutes or until the Apples are tender.
Have a taste to make sure the Apples are tender
but don't burn your mouth!
Mash the Apples with a potato masher until the Applesauce
is the desired consistency.
I like my Applesauce chunky :)
Mash Mash Mash....
I just love my Applesauce Hot, Warm or Cold.
Please have a bite.
