FALL APPLE BUTTER

Have you gone apple picking? Did you get lots of apples? Make this easy
homemade Apple Butter recipe! Just a few ingredients and so much
Delicious Fall Flavor!

Nothing screams 'Fall" like a big pot of homemade Apple Butter, bubbling
away on the stove top. It's just bursting with sweet apple
and warm spice flavors, and it has tons of
great uses.

These are Pippin Apples that I used for my Apple Butter. I picked
them off the tree at our friends ranch down in
Half Moon Bay, Ca.

4 pounds of any apples will work and I doubled this recipe.

Rinse your apples under cold water.

Start pealing away :)

Slice and cube all the apples.

Tumble all the cubed apples in a large Dutch oven.

Pour in 1 cup of Apple Cider (Not Apple Cider Vinegar).

3/4 cup of loosely packed light brown sugar.

Sprinkle in 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon.

Sprinkle in 1/4 teaspoon of ground cloves.

Sprinkle in 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt.

Squeeze in the juice of a half lemon.

Give the pot a good mixing.

Cook all the apples over medium-low heat uncovered for about 1 hour.
Stir occasionally until the apples have become very soft.

Almost ready :)

Perfect, this is now ready to be turned into Apple Butter :)

Use a hand blender to puree the mixture until smooth.

It's almost Apple Butter :)

Have a little taste to see if you need a little something else.
Nope taste DELICIOUS....

What a deep brown  beautiful color with the perfect thick consistency in this pot.

Grab several small Mason jars and fill them up with the
Homemade Apple Butter.

There are SO many great uses for Apple Butter. It's got a naturally sweet taste,
so it works well as a filling in deserts. But it's also really nice
on savory dishes like chicken or pork.

Most commonly Apple Butter is enjoyed as a spread on toast, biscuits or scones.
Let me know what you spread your Apple Butter on :)

Apple Butter makes for such a wonderful gift.

Fall In A Jar.

Enjoy!

P.S.

Apple Butter taste amazing on top of Brie Cheese on your appetizer board :)
